Brooklyn Sandbox offers a private 2s program as well as public 3K and 4K programs. Our school year runs from September to June with an optional private summer program for families who enroll in the school year. Our admissions process entails attendance at one of our Virtual Open Houses. Applications for our 2s preschool program must be submitted in January for entry in September. Open House

Our Open House season opens in the fall of the year preceding entry into school. Our Open House is comprised of several components:

1. A weekday evening Virtual Open House Zoom – Thursday, December 11th at 8pm, Thursday, January 8th at 8pm or Thursday, February 5th at 8pm.
2. A weekend tour of our school. Parents must first attend the virtual zoom in order to receive a link to sign up for a tour.
3. Once 3K/4K offers are released on Tuesday, May 20th, tours will be limited to those families with placement offers. Once you have a verifiable placement offer, please call to arrange your tour.

All 2s applications for Brooklyn Sandbox are due by Friday, January 23rd. A $75 non-refundable application fee must be submitted with your application for consideration. Apply to our private 2s program.

   What to Know Before You Apply:

• Brooklyn Sandbox provides care for children ages 2 to 5 years as calculated in September.
• Children must be two at time of entry. A one-month deposit will hold a space in our 2s program for children turning two after the school year begins.
• We offer a private 2s, and a public 3K and 4s/Pre K program.
• Our program is open from September to mid-August. There are 10-month enrollment and 12-month enrollment options available.
• Half Day, School Day and Extended Day options are available for our 2s program. Our 3K and 4K programs offer School Day (early drop option available) and Extended Day only (limited availability).
• The Extended Day afterschool fee for 3K and 4K children is $650 per month. There is a one-time materials fee of $35. Space in afterschool is limited.

• Application period opens December 11th.

• Acceptances are emailed to families by Monday, January 26th.
• Accepted families must submit a completed enrollment agreement along with a one-month, non-refundable deposit by Friday, January 30th to secure their child’s space.

Application Timeline for 3K and 4K programs

• NYC central application period opens January 14th and closes February 27th.
• Create MySchools account at MySchools.nyc.  
• Applications are due in MySchools.nyc by February 27th. 
• Offers are released to 4K families through MySchools.nyc on May 12th. 
• Offers are released to 3K families through MySchools.nyc on May 19th.
• Offers are randomized and based on family-ranked choices and school proximity to home.
• Families must accept their 3K or 4K offer via MySchools.nyc by the deadline in their offer letter.

We know that today’s families need childcare that suits both the child’s individual educational and the family’s scheduling needs. The various enrollment options were created with families in mind. We offer 10 month (Sept – June) or 12 month school year enrollment (Sept – Aug).
