Routines establish a predictable environment which provide children with a sense of responsibility, control and security. Daily schedules build trust between the children and the teachers and help to ease separation anxiety.  Consistency, with some flexibility based on the needs of the children, maximizes their enjoyment and development.

Schedule

8:00 - 9:00 arrival (play centers, table toys)

9:15 – 9:30 cleanup/circle time; transition time

9:30 – 10:15 playground

10:15 – 10:45 wash up/morning snack

10:45 – 11:00 circle time (songs, stories or games)

11:00 – 11:30 work time (painting, baking, projects, collage, etc.)

11:30 – 12:00 sensory activities

12:00 – 1:00 wash up/lunch/pick up

1:00 – 3:00 nap/rest time

3:00 – 3:30 pick up/story time

3:30 – 4:15 outdoor play

4:15 – 4:30 wash-up/ afternoon snack

4:30 – 4:45 sensory activity/small group play

4:45 – 5:00 activity time

5:00 – 6:00 open choice (books, puzzles, toys, projects) and clean up  

6:00   pick-up
